About

A part of White’s San Francisco series City Surf, this photograph offers a small, decontextualized snapshot of urban life in what was one of the most diverse areas of mid-century San Francisco – a neighborhood with a burgeoning arts and culture scene which later underwent vast and controversial urban redevelopment.
