About
In 1941, as part of a Farm Security Administration project, photographer Jack Delano travelled to Puerto Rico. He was immediately taken by the beautiful country, and incorporated its influence into his photography. This photograph depicts a Tobacco farmer, his straw hat hanging low over his eyes, his gaze averted away from the camera, suggesting the anonymity given to the farm laborers across the United States and its territories.
