About

This painting is exemplary of Helen Frankenthaler’s love of fluidity and her departure from centered compositions and towards more organic, rounded forms. In the 1960s, she began to experiment with her “soak-stain” technique, inspired by Jason Pollock, by thinning her oil paint with turpentine before applying it directly to a blank canvas. Frankenthaler called areas where the paint met, such as in this painting, “well-ordered collisions.” The painting is named as such because of its similar palette to confections that mix brightly colored flavors.

Then we add finishing touches like a wall hanging mount, wall friendly bumpers and a protective backing.
