Thiebaud utilizes the repetition of these vibrantly painted YoYos to create a pattern of intensely colored rows. The YoYos are portrayed either with a swirl, target, star, or simple circle design. Each YoYo is individual in characteristic but in the sea of YoYos they uniformally become something bigger. The heavy brushstrokes typically associated with Thiebaud’s works can be seen in this painting of the YoYos.
