About
Thiebaud boldly paints seven distinct lollipops lying on a counter in Seven Suckers. Each individual lollipop is markedly painted with daring pigments– some are left with just their vivid color, while others are depicted with heart, swirl, or pattern designs. The dark blue shadow of each lollipop connects one to the other and they collectively become a joined whole on the canvas. Thiebaud paints with his usual thick strokes, while also haloing each lollipop and shadow with contrasting colors of yellows, reds, oranges, and blues.
