About
Gág’s lithograph showcases her ability to work with both shadow and light, as seen in how the illumination from the window on the right-hand side simultaneously darkens and brightens the kitchen. The print was inspired by Gág’s grandparents’ farm in Minnesota and how the homely interior seemed unchanged since she was a child. The sleeping cat, seen in the foreground, is recognized as Gág becoming a part of the kitchen’s history.
