About
Van Gogh created “Van Gogh’s Chair” while working with Gauguin at Arles. This work was one of a series of two works; the other was Gauguin’s chair (which now hangs at the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam), depicted at night. It is possible that the two works were meant to serve as portrait of each artists, representing the similarities and differences between these two artists.
