About
Copied from a print, van Gogh depicts a working, stooped figure harvesting wheat with a scythe. He painted copies to practice, especially when he had no real models to work from. The figure is developed on a yellow wheat background, with mixed light blues in between plants, while the figure wears variations of bright blues to stand out among the field.
