About
Van Gogh was interested in the environmental effects of the olive trees on the asylum grounds at Saint-Remy. He paints them in a wild and gnarled manner with the trees reflects a silvery-blue hue to the leaves. The earth is speckled with numerous colors as well, introducing warmer tones.
