About
While studying painting at the Paris atelier of Fernand Cormon (1845-1924), he painted this girl in a few of his pictures. He practiced the method learned at the academy, which focuses on the tonal quality of the subject by applying paint layers. He began with a green-grey underlayer then worked from dark to light, finally adding in darker accents at the end of the process.
