About
During his stay at the asylum, he painted this mulberry tree in autumn. He depicts it growing from a rocky terrain in the garden of the hospital; it takes up the central subject of the scene. The brilliance of autumn is shown through the bright orange in the chaotic leaves, which also compliments the blue sky behind it.
