About
This still life, along with three others, were the last paintings van Gogh painted at the asylum in Saint-Remy, they were created on the eve of his departure. Though the red pigments have faded, theses irises were once violet setting ontop a pink background, giving a “harmonious and soft” effect to the viewer.
