About
The woman picture also modeled with her family for The Potato Eaters, and her name is Gordina de Groot. Van Gogh was dedicated to being a better figure painter, and thus painted many studies of farmworkers’ heads. He concentrated on the dark earthy tones of the woman’s facial features as well as the warm red tones of her head and face.
