About
This was van Gogh’s first garden scene he painted; in it, he explores perspective. He created a panoramic view of the rectangular flower pots filled with pink, yellow, blue, and red hyacinths from the low vantage point. Contrasting with the bright spring flowers are the brown cottages nearby and the figure cutting through the fields.
