About
Van Gogh created this still life at Arles, where he hoped to establish a thriving art colony. This study seems to be focusing on the humble qualities of a less than thriving flower pot of daisies in an outdoor setting. Behind the pot of a few blooms are yellow flowers growing from the earth, creeping into the picture.
