About
This is a corridor in the asylum of Saint-Paul-de-Mausole in St. Remy, where van Gogh voluntarily entered himself for twelve months in 1889. The composition is very colorful in depicting the seemingly never-ending hallway, with only one figure in it. He sent the picture to his brother, Theo, to allow him a view of his surroundings.
