About
This watercolor painting is a response to his previous Painting with White Border, which was an abstract expression of the city of Moscow. Similar to the other painting, Kandinsky focuses on the use of lines and colors to create an artwork focusing on movement. The watercolor consists of many intersecting bold and thin lines. Each line and the consequent plane it forms are highlighted by colors that show a rhythmic movement to the artwork. Kandinsky believed that colors corresponded to different sounds and this artwork were painted with the intention of engaging all of the viewer’s senses.
