About
This painting is a composition that consists entirely of geometric shapes, organized into a form that provides viewers with an “energetically vertical” interpretation. The structure is set amidst a background of different shades of green. The straight lines in this painting are balanced with larger curves that complete the composition. Moreover, the forms anchor the structure on each side and create a sense of balance in both form and color including the smaller structures on the top right and bottom left of the artwork. The bottom form of the structure resembles the letter “E”, which many have interpreted as a reference to the first letter of Empor, the German title of the painting.
