About
Succession, R. 1055 depicts colorful organic and geometric shapes separated into four rows with lines dividing the rows. The painting is an abstract experiment of how shapes can resemble recognizable signs and symbols, moreover, the painting itself resembles a writing system. Kandinsky uses colors to show the different components of each organic and geometric shapes to show how the basic units and strokes of the world create complex symbols.
