About
This painting expands on horse and rider motif found in many of Kandinsky’s paintings. This abstract painting expresses the horse and rider, and its environment by breaking down the forms to the basic unit and using bold lines to create highly defined lines. The horse and rider can be seen in the center of the painting, in action riding towards the top of the painting. Surrounding him are images of architectural structures, hills, and people. Using a complex combination of brushwork and colors, Kandinsky creates spatial depth and brings a sense of sound and chaos to the visual work.
