About
Melodisch (Melody) is an example of Kandinsky’s experimentation of geometric shapes and lines. This painting depicts a collection of forms and lines that interact with each other forming an abstract expression of the melody of shapes and lines. Color is used to highlight the forms but also accentuate certain lines that interact with other forms. The interaction of shapes and lines reinforced by the layering of colors creates a sense of spatial depth and three-dimensionality.
