About
Yellow Border is one of the most recognizable artworks by Kandinsky. It consists of a yellow border framing a red painting. On the red painting, Kandinsky paints intersecting lines that extend to the top of the painting, and geometric shapes emerge from the lines and main structures, each in a different color to highlight their form and importance. The structure created captures an upward and horizontal energy and brings life to the painting. It encourages the viewer to reflect on how basic geometric shapes form recognizable symbols and images that we encounter in our lives.
