This painting is an abstract expression of a mountain landscape. In the center of the painting, he shows a bright blue mountain that is framed by a yellow and red tree on either side of the painting. In the foreground, multicolor horse riders travel across the painting, representing the four horsemen of the apocalypse. However, the painting displays an emotion of hope rather than despair. The distorted colors are not a natural depiction of reality, instead, his colors and forms show his representational and non-objective expression of the interpretation of Russian folk art and his love for the landscape.
