About
Around the Circle depicts a combination of organic forms in a combination of geometric shapes set in a dark green background. Kandinsky was inspired by images from biology and created forms that resembled biological forms. The organic forms are highlighted in the background and were surrounded by a thick black outline. He combined these images with primary geometric shapes and lines that created an abstract painting. Although it is not connected to any physical reality, it was an expression of an optimistic vision for human nature and hope for regeneration.
