About
The closed and compact composition of this abstract painting is one of Kandinsky’s stud of the artistic units that make up all paintings. The unit of study in this painting was the circle. Smaller circles and lines are enclosed by a larger black circle which helped focus the viewer on the design inside and set the theme of the circles to the forefront of the painting. The different circles inside the larger one interact with one another, with line designs to set the perspective of the painting.
