About
Haddam is thought to be the earliest painting of Connecticut River Valley’s landscape. The oil painting portrays woodland creatures alongside human figures participating in sporting and hunting typically characteristic of the British at the time. Also depicted is The Connecticut River– which Huntington herself lived by– which divides the animals and people from the town of houses and church on the other side of the water.
