About
Russell Lee was a photographer for the Farm Security Administration, and worked to document the lives of the rural poor in the United States. Lee captured this animated image of an energetic group of young girls playing outside in the small town of Lafayette Louisiana. While his job description meant for Lee to depict the difficulties of many Americans, he often juxtaposed hard times with the joys of everyday life.
