About
Jammin’ at the Savoy is a collage of jazz musicians. Bearden was inspired by the jazz genre and the improvisational and deconstructed nature of the music. He reflected that idea by layering different images of jazz players, instruments, colors, and textures to create a narrative of the musical genre. Through the collage, viewers can imagine the music through the vibrant colors and patterns of the artwork.
