About
This painting serves as one of the main motifs in Guernica and its studies. Contextually, the subject matter of the work is taken directly from bullfighting iconography and is the most dramatic of the preliminary stages of the spectacle: when the bull charges the horse during the “lance phase” of the renowned painting.
