About
Commissioned by the Cream of Wheat company, this piece is part of the so called, "golden age of illustration," when elaborate illustrations were created for magazine advertisements. N.C Wyeth was known for creating western-inspired illustrations that capture a moment, frozen in time. Here the rider clings to the bucking bronco after just having lassoed the horse's front left hoof, but not yet cinched it. The rider seems strong and confident astride the horse, likely thanks to the cream of wheat he ate for breakfast that day.
