About

Daybreak is perhaps Maxfield Parrish's best-known works. Prepatory sketches indicate that the artist originally planned to have three figures in this work, the third was seated near the right hand pillar. Parrish used dynamic symmetry, a system based on mathematical principles, to create this work.
