About
Painted during one of her last Summers at the Cornish Art Colony in Cornish, New Hampshire, Dewing depicts a varying array of flowers in an entirely immersive scene. Tonally, she scene expresses soft pinks, yellows, and whites, grounded by a deep green shadow creeping from the bottom edge and bottom right corner. The softness of the flowers seems to fade into near abstraction.
