About
This work was first shown in The Last Futurist Exhibition of Paintings in 1915 in Petrograd. It is often referred to as the "zero point of painting", paraphrasing Malevich himself, which he called "Suprematism." This concept gave color and shape values that superceded realism, made them supreme to everything else in a painting.
