About
Prades, the Village (Prades, el poble) is a semi-realist landscape painting with Fauvist color schemes. Miró paints this shortly before moving to surrealism. Miró employs vibrant hues of purples, pinks, greens, yellows, and blues to depict a land of crops by a town with a church. There is an element of Cubist influence in this work, as characteristic of Miró’s earlier pieces.
