Seagulls feature prominently in Jamie Wyeth’s body of work, and in this scene, a mother bird sits on her nest while a baby seagull waddles away. The artist’s tendency toward naturalism is best seen in the details of the eye, beak, and feathers. The extreme angle of the composition means that the viewer is looking down at the sittng seagull, but from a close position. In the bottom left corner, three collaged letters spell out the title, Run.
