In one of the more abstract images of the Migration Series, Lawrence depicts rows of leafy crops in between stripes of earth tones. The vertical imagery of this panel draws the viewer’s eye upwards and backwards into space, suggesting that the rows of vegetation continue on forever. Additionally, Lawrence touches upon the huge demographic shift caused not by a move from South to North, but rather rural to urban.
