Snow in Kashiwabara is a woodblock print by Hiroshi Yoshida. Yoshida was an avid traveler, outdoorsman, and hiker, and he captured the beauty of various scenes through these prints. He took inspiration from 19th-century European watercolorists and added Japanese traditional ink painting themes to depict the landscape. This print depicts several houses by a pond and the hills and mountains behind the houses. Powder snows cover the landscapes and rest on the roof of the houses. Near the center, three people are seen walking into the house. The snow is starting to melt by the pond and on the hills, and the pond water reflects the nearby house and trees. This print captures the natural weather conditions of Japan and lives of people in the countryside during the winter season.
