Kameido Bridge is a woodblock print from Yoshida’s Twelve Views of Tokyo series. Yoshida took inspiration from 19th-century European watercolorists and added Japanese traditional painting techniques to depict scenes of nature. The print depicts Kameido Tenjin Shrine bridge in Tokyo. The wooden bridge is filled with people crossing the stream showing the busy nature of the shrine. The supporting beams of the bridge are echoed in the tree branches that can be seen through the bridge. Purple flowers hang from the wooden grid on the top of the bridge and show the spring season. The round bridge is reflected in the water to form a complete circle, creating a complete composition.
