About
Tanner traveled several times to the Middle East region and captures different cityscapes. Gateway, Tangier is one of several paintings depicting the gateway to Casbah, an older part of the Tangier city in Morocco. Tanner used a light color palette of blue shades to depict the gate and emphasized the light source that came through the gate and highlighted the subject walking past the entrance. Several subjects are seen around the gate to capture the everyday lives of the people in Tangier.
