About
The spontaneity of each stroke in Summer Night's Bliss is typical of works characterized in the Abstract expressionist movement–of which Hofmann was a leader. The larger strokes of stark dark hues battle the pastel ones while finer flicks of paint dance around the scene, intensifying the impromptu nature of this abstraction.
