This painting demonstrates Crowley’s abstraction using geometric forms and a variety of colors. This painting, made in 1947, was displayed in the 1950s as abstract art gained popularity. It is speculated that Crowley’s best work was created in the early 1950s. Crowley’s use of color and overlapping shapes and lines demonstrates her avant-garde ideas and motivations.
