About
A prime example of O’Keeffe’s floral work, this painting depicts an enlarged white flower as the central motif of the painting. The swells of the large white petals partially obscure fragments of sage foliage beneath the flower. The pale tone of the plant contrasts the mauve earth in the background. Yellow stamens float around a chartruese center, creating a halo effect.
