About
This oil painting appears to be a transitional piece, as it prefaces the brilliant colors of O'Keeffe's New Mexico landscapes but also alludes to her earlier experiences producing artwork at Lake George, in New York's Adirondack Park. Kandinsky's treatise "On the Spiritual in Art" was inspirational for O'Keeffe and she used his ideas in this work.
