About
A prime example of O’Keeffe’s floral artwork, this painting depicts an enlarged Jimson Weed as its central figure. The five-petaled flower is surrounded by fragments of sage foliage and a slate background. The chartruese center of the flower contrasts the pale white and yellow of its stamens. The small details of the flower, such as the swirl at the tips of its petals, serves as a reminder of O’Keeffe’s mission to highlight the beauty of nature and capture her emotions inspired by it.
