About
This oil painting is an example of O'Keeffe's more abstract and ambiguous work, loosely suggesting a representation of the petals of a flower. Two large white folds partially encapsulate a series of smaller yellow, blue, and red folds. The repeating hues of blue, yellow, and red to give the folds depth testify to O'Keeffe's unique use of tonal gradation in her work.
