About
Ya tienen asiento. (They’ve already got a seat.) is one of the eighty prints in Goya’s 1799 ‘Los Caprichos’ series of aquatint etchings which aimed to condemn the society in which he lived. Ya tienen asiento. (They’ve already got a seat.) is the 26th one in the series, as evident by the written number in the top right. Goya portrays two half-naked women, legs exposed with their heads and top-halfs covered in mantillas, with chairs resting on their heads. Two men laugh at the pair with contorted facial expressions.
