Que sacrificio! (What a sacrifice!) is one of the eighty prints in Goya’s 1799 ‘Los Caprichos’ series of aquatint etchings which aimed to condemn the society in which he lived. Que sacrificio! (What a sacrifice!) is the 14th one in the series, as evident by the written number in the top right. Goya depicts a young woman being courted by an unattractive man in front of her family.
