About
A triptych made in memory of Bacon’s lover George Dyer, shows a formless Dyer across three light pink colored canvases. Referencing both the Paris hotel where the body was found as well as T.S. Eliot’s poem The Waste Land, three different forms of Dyer make up the series of images. From the left, Dyer’s figure is twisted, hanging on the edge of a red circular path. In the middle, he is seen standing in the hotel (his form shadowed and his arm a fleshy pink color). Finally, on the right, two framed images of Dyer juxtapose and melt into each other.
