About
From 1901 to 1903 Kirchner studied architecture, art history, and drawing in the city of Dresden and would return in 1905 to complete the degree. Later he was one of the founding members of the German expressionist group Die Brücke which was based out of Dresden. In this piece he uses only three colors plus black and white to paint the city with minimal detail while also managing to capture the the beauty of the city.
