About
Late in Kirchner’s career he painted his friend Max Leibermann in his studio. The work is stylistically different from much of his older works, using more defined lines and shapes compared to his style at the peak of his involvement with Die Brücke. Kirchner uses contrasting color palettes, as the muddy browns and greens of Leiberman gets juxstaposed against the vibrancy of the background.
